Il terzo album di Folamour annunciato per Giugno uscirà per la sua label FHUO e ospita tante collaborazioni che puoi spizzare nei dettagli della tracklist. Più passa il tempo e più si nota la trasformazione dell’artista: rispetto ad esempio al secondo album c’è meno da divertirsi ma si apprezza lo sforzo di mettersi alla prova. Folamour poteva continuare a fare quello che gli riusciva con successo, funk e nu-disco per fare ballare e divertire, ma il 2020 per tanti artisti è servito per switchare e lanciarsi in altri mondi e sfere musicali, uscire dalla confort zone, avere il tempo per provarci senza correre per i club in giro per il mondo è stata un occasione importante per alcuni. Più testi, archi, ottoni, batteria e meno computer e campioni, l’artista che con “Umami” nel 2017 aveva colpito con la sua nu-disco poi nel 2019 si era fatto più ambient con “Ordinary Drugs”, presenta così “The Journey” :
I composed this album in metropolises and no man’s land, inspired by moments that marked me, changed me, feelings that I could carry strong within me, trials and surprises. To express all these emotions, I deeply changed my way of composing, a change that I had already started with my second album “Ordinary Drugs”, putting aside samples and computers and concentrating on writing texts, recording strings and brass, drums, voice too, in order to be as close as possible to the moment I wanted to represent. I set no limits on format or genre, allowing me the freedom to choose the right tool for the picture.
