MAA is Masahiro Tetsuka, DJ and co-founder of the Tokyo-based Hamon Radio. How did we get to him? Through Dj Rocca! Rocca who has a thing for the market and Japanese music (if you follow his DIGGIN column you already know) met him in person at La Casella Festival in 2019. From there started a loop of opinions and beats till when we asked him to participate to our “Hello My Beat Is” series. The mixtape is a blend of ambient and balearic sounds that take us around the world: from the Japanese Chari Chari to Siti Muharam, with a track from his latest album for On The Corner Records, passing by more well-known names like Chris Coco and other emerging names such as Indonesian Yopi Handi. Dj Rocca che da sempre ha un debole per il mercato e la musica giapponese (se segui la sua rubrica DIGGIN ne avrai avuto una prova) l’ha conosciuto di persona a La Casella Festival nel 2019. Da li uno scambio di pareri ed ascolti fino a quando gli abbiamo chiesto di partecipare alla nostra collana Hello My Beat Is. Il mixtape è un condensato di suoni ambient e baearici che ci fanno fare il giro del mondo: dal giapponese Chari Chari a Siti Muharam con un atraccia dal suo ultimo album per On The Corner Records, passando da nomi più conosciuti come Chris Coco e altri emergenti come l’indonesiano Yopi Handi.
